E3 2018 news: 'Battlefield' and 'Anthem' confirmed to appear at EA Play 2018

For people who always look forward to new game announcements and releases, the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) is a must. It has always been a go-to for those who want to satisfy their thirst for gaming awareness for the present and upcoming year. This year, it is no different. E3 is serving up a lot of surprises for its loyal following, starting with two highly anticipated games — the newest installment in the "Battlefield" series and Bioware's "Anthem."

Electronic Arts announced that the yet-to-be named "Battlefield" title and Bioware's "Anthem" will grace the EA Play 2018 event, which will be held off-site from the official E3 2018 event at the Hollywood Palladium.

The EA Play event will enable players to get to try first-hand the new game in the "Battlefield" franchise. At the same time, fans will also be granted a comprehensive look at 2019's "Anthem."

With both games confirmed for an appearance, fans can surely expect more details regarding the release dates for both games especially with "Battlefield" seeing as it is now playable. It's only a matter of time until a specific drop date will be announced.

Although "Battlefield" is now confirmed to appear on EA's Play 2018 event, details about the game has been scarce. According to recent speculations, "Battlefield's" next installment will be set in the Second World War, citing the "Bad Company" series' success, which is set in World War I. However, other rumors push toward a more modern premise.

Meanwhile as EA detailed in its update, "Anthem" will not be available to play. However, fans can still look forward to juicy details, the gaming giant has promised fans an "inside look" to the game's current development.

Elsewhere, due to "Battlefield" dropping in fall of this year, EA has pushed "Anthem's" release date to a later window launch date of 2019.

EA Play 2018 will be held at a different site from the E3 2018 convention and will act as a kick-off for the latter. It will start from June 9 up to the 11. Fans who are not able to attend the reveal will be filled-in with game details through a live streaming channel.

Following the Play Event, E3 2018 will officially start on June 12 through the 14. Other games set to make an appearance are "The Sims 4," and EA's top sporting games, which will likely be "FIFA 19" and "Madden NFL 19," among others.
