'Dragon Ball Super' spoilers: Super Saiyan Blue Goku battles Golden Freeza in episode 24

After a shocking turn of events in the previous episode, which saw the death of Piccolo, Goku and Vegeta have arrived to fight Freeza. Episode 24, titled "The Clash! Freeza vs Son Goku! This is the Result of My Training!" will see Goku and Freeza finally go toe-to-toe against each other.

As seen in the promotional trailer, the two will begin fighting in their powered down forms. This is very akin to the fight seen in "Dragon Ball Z: Resurrection of F" movie. This will most likely go on for a few minutes as the two fighters begin to weigh in the capabilities of the opponent.

Also like the film, there will be a moment where Vegeta fights Goku as they argue who gets to fight Freeza. In the film, there was a sequence where Goku promised Vegeta a chance to fight Freeza but nearly forgot about his promise, causing Vegeta to step in and demand a few minutes to face off Freeza.

Also seen in the trailer is Freeza displaying his full power, a move that irritates both Goku and Vegeta.

The trailer also showcases Goku transforming beyond his regular form and into the now iconic Super Saiyan Blue form, which is his Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan form in the films. It is undetermined at this point if the episode will see this form in action or if the transformation marks the ending of the episode.

Because of this, it is still undetermined if Freeza will transform into his Golden form by this episode or if that will be saved for episode 25. It is likely that the Golden Freeza will be delayed a little bit in order to extend the current storyline at least to episode 30.

By then the new story will focus on reviving Piccolo using Namekian Dragon Balls. This will be a new storyline unseen in the films thus far.

"Dragon Ball Super" episode 24 airs this Dec. 20.
