"Diablo III" is gearing up to celebrate its twentieth year anniversary, and gamers will be getting two separate DLC packs that will commemorate the previous entries in the series. The first announced pack is a remake of "Diablo 1" being added to "Diablo III," and the second confirms that the Necromancer class is being added to the game.

Announced during BlizzCon (via Game Rant), Blizzard Entertainment first announced the "Darkening of Tristram" DLC. This will launch sometime in January 2017 and will be a full remake of "Diablo 1" added into the game. Plot-wise, players will go through a portal to experience "Adria's memories" to play the original game.

The remake will take full use of the "Diablo III" engine, but there is the added option of using a special filter that will alter the game's visuals. By activating this, the game will now appear more similar to how the original "Diablo" game looked back in 1996.

Game Rant points out that some fans were disappointed, given that the most prevalent rumor was that Blizzard was working on a "Diablo II" remake, but it turns out that it was a "Diablo 1" remake.

Despite this, Blizzard did have something from "Diablo II" ready for the fans as they later announced that the Necromancer class is going to be made available in "Diablo III" as well. The character class will be sold as a separate DLC pack instead of being bundled in an expansion, and it is scheduled for a 2017 release.

According to the report, players will have the option of playing a male or female Necromancer. The former is also relatively similar to the design of the Necromancer seen in "Diablo II." A short trailer was released to showcase the class in use, but the exact details of its abilities have yet to be released.

Both DLC packs are scheduled to be released in 2017.
