"Deus Ex: Mankind Divided," the highly-anticipated sequel to "Deus Ex: Human Revolution" from Eidos Montreal and Square Enix, will be officially released on Feb. 23, 2016. Along with the release date, Square Enix announced a new approach to pre-order bonuses which they refer to as the "Augment Your Pre-Order" system.
Similar to crowdfunding rewards, the more pre-orders there are for "Deus Ex: Mankind Divided," the more rewards will be unlocked. The system is divided into five tiers.
Tier I gives gamers a choice between three pre-order items. The first item available is the Intruder Pack which gives bonus items specifically for stealth-based players; the second choice is the Enforcer Pack which is for aggressive players; and there is the Classic Pack for players fond of the old look and feel of "Deus Ex: Human Revolution."
Tier II will be unlocked once a certain number of pre-orders has been reached. At Tier II, players will be able to choose a pre-order bonus of either a digital art book or a digital OST of six tracks from the game, composed by Michael McCann.
Tier III will unlock a special mission not available in the regular game. This "Desperate Measures" mission will see Adam investigating the Ruzicka Train Station incident to discover who the true mastermind behind the bombing was.
Tier IV allows gamers to choose between a bonus of a digital comic book set in the game's universe or a novella that follows the characters from "Deus Ex: Human Revolution."
Tier V will only be unlocked once the global aim of pre-orders has been reached. Once this Tier is unlocked, the game will be released four days earlier than its Feb. 23 schedule.
There is also a special Collector's Edition which will unlock all of the bonuses from Tier I to Tier IV and will include a steelbook case, a 45-page Titan Artbook and a 9-inch Adam Jensen figurine.
"Deus Ex: Mankind Divided" will be released for the Xbox One, PS4 and PC.
