'Deadpool 2' release date, spoilers news: Creator Rob Liefeld responds to Cable casting rumors

Kyle Chandler as seen in Wolf of Wall Street Paramount Pictures

"Deadpool 2" has been teased ever since the first film was released. It is going to include Cable and Domino in the film. Rumors have emerged that Kyle Chandler is being approached to portray Cable and this has been met with mixed reactions from the fans. Rob Liefeld, the creator of the Deadpool character, has responded to the rumors in an interview with Nerdy Pop.

Liefeld explained that he didn't know Chandler personally and had never gotten to work with the actor before. However, he did state that the studios would be lucky to work with an actor such as Chandler, an actor many try hard to get a chance to work with, and points out that Chandler did work with renowned film director Martin Scorsese.

To put it in retrospective, Chandler has worked with Scorsese on "The Wolf of Wall Street" and in the Academy Award-winning film "Argo," as well as the nominated film "Zero Dark Thirty." While he is not primarily known for action roles, he did portray an action-star in Peter Jackson's remake of "King Kong."

"If, by chance that rumor was true and the production was lucky enough to get somebody as talented as him, I would just trust in the people that gave you 'Deadpool' to figure that out for the best. I would just say, everybody calm down," he added.

The studios have yet to confirm if Chandler is indeed going to portray Cable and who will be portraying Domino. The film is going to bring back Ryan Reynolds as Wade Wilson aka Deadpool and is again going to be set in the same cinematic universe as the "X-Men" films.

Film journalist Umberto Gonzales of Heroic Hollywood has stated on Twitter that the studios want Liam Neeson for the role but director Tim Miller does not, preferring his choice of Kyle Chandler. Neither party has yet responded to the rumors regarding the film's casting.

If you look at the Church of England’s communications all that it ever seems to highlight is the good works that Christians do to improve the temporal well-being of their neighbours. It is right to highlight these things, but they are not the primary reason for the Church’s existence.
