'Cuphead' game receives first major game patch

Popular run and gun, indie shooting game "Cuphead" recently received its first major patch. The patch was created in the hopes of fixing the game's bugs and removing some of the flaws detected in the game.

Studio MDHR Entertainment Incorporated, the game's developer, created an announcement regarding the brand new patch on their website. The post detailed the changes and fixes that it would apply to the game.

According to the update, Patch v1.1.3 aims to fix a handful of the game's issues — including crashes, glitches, and screen freezing. Other fixes were also implemented.

For one, players will no longer be able to create a Mugman army or damage bosses who are off-screen and could not fight back. Glitchy boss battles have also been fixed in the latest update, ensuring that specific attacks land on the player character. Glitches and boss battles aside, "Cuphead's" animation was polished during the update and music and animation flaws were also repaired.

Overall, the patch is crafted to ensure that the game will run smoothly and that players do not use exploits to cheat, and that the game runs without crashing or glitching too often.

"Cuphead" was first released on Sept. 29, 2017. The game endeared itself to its fans with its old-timey art direction and music, but even more than that, it reminded many of the old days when video games were expected to have a certain difficulty. While some people enjoyed how challenging "Cuphead" was, a handful thought it was too much.

The game was often compared to "Dark Souls," another game known for its difficulty. A handful of fans agreed with the comparison, while others did not. Despite the wedge between the gamers, "Cuphead" earned an overwhelmingly positive review on Steam and other video game review websites.
