'Chicago Fire' season 5 spoilers: New promo teases conflict between Boden and Jimmy

 NBC

A brand-new teaser trailer for "Chicago Fire" season 5 has been released, and while it is only 15 seconds, long the teaser already gives a broad insight into what fans can expect when the show returns this October. As stated by Ecumenical News, the trailer carries a powerful message showcasing what the firefighters have to go through on a regular basis.

The song that plays during the trailer is "Unstoppable" by The Score and its message is about being strong and on top of the world, with its chorus repeatedly stating "we can be heroes" like an anthem. The report points out that this carries a very similar vibe to the usual Summer Olympics and its heroics are showcased in the trailer.

While short, the clip focuses on the main cast surviving through explosions, intense fires and still sticking together like a family. It does hint a little bit about the conflict between Boden (Eamonn Walker) and Jimmy (Steven McQueen) while also showcasing the evolving relationship of Dawson (Monica Raymund), Casey (Kathleen Quinlan) and Louie (Aiden Cohen).

The report also points out that the season will be introducing a new crossover with "Chicago P.D." but it won't be a regular crossover. Instead it will be a crossover of romantic interests as paramedic Sylvie Brett (Kara Killmer) of "Chicago Fire" gets into a relationship with Detective Antonio Dawson (Jon Seda) from "Chicago P.D."

"There's plenty to play in terms of the May-December version of Brett to Antonio - his character has a couple kids, he's divorced, no way should he be with this woman, but she's had her heart broken. She's looking for a real man, he qualifies," explained executive producer Matt Olmstead in an interview with Entertainment Weekly. "He's looking for a real soul, a real heart, and she qualifies."

"Chicago Fire" season 5 will premiere this Oct. 11.
