Consumers should not expect the HTC One M9 "Hima" to make an appearance at the 2015 Consumer Electronics Show, as HTC hinted that it will refresh the Desire line at the event.

HTC teased that it will take the wraps off a new Desire smartphone. In its official Weibo account, it put up its CES 2015 poster with a tagline that reads, "Always desire more." The catch phrase is not too cryptic for consumers to crack that the Taiwanese mobile manufacturer is gearing to release a new Desire smartphone, which is the mid-range smartphone line of the company.

The details about the new Desire smartphone are scarce since so much attention has been given to the company's flagship smartphone – the HTC One M9, recently dubbed as "Hima."

Meanwhile, consumers may not have to wait long for the HTC One M9 "Hima" as the handset was spotted in the AnTuTu benchmark and in other places hinting the imminent release date of the handset. The smartphone was listed in the benchmark site with model number "HTC653LVW (hima)."

According to the listing, the smartphone will have a 5-inch screen display with 1080p Full HD resolution, 2 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 octa-core chip with 64-bit architecture, Adreno 420 GPU, 3 GB of RAM, Android 5.0.1 Lollipop OS out-of-the-box customized with HTC Sense 7 UI, 20.7-megapixel camera, and 13-megapixel front-facing camera or an Ultrapixel shooter. This confirms the earlier leaks by reliable tipster of HTC-related rumors @upleaks.

HTC One M9 "Hima" is rumored to be released at a press event of the company to be held after the Mobile World Congress 2015. The smartphone will be unveiled alongside two other mid-range smartphones reported as the Ace and Ultra variants.

The current HTC One M8 is being sold at a discounted price, which further hints the upcoming release of its successor. However, there is no word from HTC yet whether the rumors are true.
