Apple iPad Air 2
Apple unveiled its new iPad line last month. The new iPad Air comes with a 9.7-inch Retina screen display, an A8X processor with 64-bit architecture and an Adreno 420 GPU. The tablet also packs an 8 MP camera at the back and iOS 8. The iPad Air 2 is available in 16 GB, 32 GB, and 128 GB storage variants.
HTC Nexus 9
Nexus 9 is the latest tablet from Google and the tech giant teamed up with Taiwanese manufacturer HTC in making the device, which is pre-loaded with Android 5.0 Lollipop OS. The Nexus 9 tablet packs an 8.9-inch Quad HD (1536 x 2048) screen display with 281 ppi, Nvidia Tegra K1 chipset and Adreno 420 GPU paired with 2 GB of RAM. Connectivity-wise, the tablet offers Wi-Fi ac, Bluetooth 4.1, NFC, and microUSB 2.0. The tablet is supported by a 6700 mAh battery. HTC Nexus 9 is available in 32 GB and 64 GB storage variants that cost $649 and $699, respectively.
Microsoft Surface Pro 3
Microsoft also unveiled its own Surface Pro 3 tablet that has fair specs and features. Microsoft Surface Pro 3 models pack a 12-inch screen display and Windows 8.1 OS. The tablet is considerably thinner measuring only 9.1 mm thick. It is also lighter as it weighs only 800 grams.The tablets pack a Haswell processor. The 64 GB and 128 GB models are equipped with 4 GB RAM, while the high-end 512 GB and 256 GB versions are shipped with a bigger 8 GB RAM. The device comes with a "Surface Pen" (stylus) and boasts a battery capacity of up to nine hours of web browsing or constant use.
Samsung Galaxy Note Pro 12.2
Samsung also released one of its powerful tablets early this year – Samsung Galaxy Note Pro 12.2. The tablet was announced at the Consumers Electronics Show in January and comes with the S Pen stylus and S Pen-optimized software features.
The Samsung Galaxy Note Pro 12.2 boasts a large12.2-inch Super Clear LCD display with 2560 x 1600 pixel resolution. The tablet is powered by an octa-core 1.9 GHz Exynos 5 processor paired with 3 GB of RAM. At the back, the Samsung tablet sports an 8 MP camera and 9500 mAh battery.
Samsung Galaxy Note Pro 12.2 is available in 32 GB and 64 GB with microSD slot of up to 64 GB. The 32 GB tablet is priced at $639.99, while the 64 GB costs $739.00 in Amazon.
Sony Xperia Z2 Tablet
Japanese company Sony released the Xperia Z2 tablet last February at the Mobile World Congress tech event and is one of the thinnest tablets in the market.
The tablet boasts IP58 rating that means the device is dust proof and water resistant. The tablet has a 10.1-inch screen display with 1200 x 1920 pixel resolution or 224 ppi. The Sony Xperia Z2 Tablet is equipped with a quad-core Snapdragon 801 processor clocked at 2.3 GHz with 3 GB of RAM. The tablet sports an 8.1 MP primary camera, and 2.2 MP front-facing camera.
The tablet was released with Android 4.4.2 KitKat, but will be updated to Android 5.0 Lollipop OS. Amazon offers the tablet for $466.29.
