2K Games has released the first teaser trailer for "BioShock: The Collection," confirming that it will indeed launch for the PS4, Xbox One and PC later this year. As stated in a report from IGN, the U.S. will receive the game on Sept. 13, Australia will get the title on Sept. 15 and its international release will be on Sept. 16.
"BioShock: The Collection" will contain "BioShock," "BioShock 2" and "BioShock: Infinite." All of them will be remastered to run at 1080p resolution and at a consistent 60 frames per second. However, these new settings will only be for the consoles as the report points out all three games already run at the highest settings for PC.
The report also points out that this remaster of "BioShock" will come with the Challenge Rooms which were solely for the PS3 port of the game as well as the Museum of Orphanded Concepts. This is a unique gallery that showcases material that were not used for the final build of the game.
Multiplayer for "BioShock 2" is not going to be included but the game will have its "The Protector Trials" and "Minerva's Den" DLC. "BioShock: Infinite" will come with the "Clash in the Clouds," "Burial at Sea" and "Columbia's Finest" DLC packs will also be included with the collection.
The original "BioShock" launched in 2007 for the Xbox 360 and PC. A year later it was launched for the Playstation 3. "BioShock 2" followed suit in 2010 and the third and final game in the franchise, "Bioshock: Infinite," was released in 2013. Also in 2013 came the "Ultimate Rapture Edition," which bundled the first two games.
"BioShock: The Collection" will be the first time all three games will be bundled together and will mark the franchise's first appearance on the PS4 and Xbox One. As noted by IGN, rumors of a remastered collection have been surfacing across the Internet since last year but this is the first official announcement of a concrete release date.
