Several images showing the latest Batmobile from the DC/Warner Bros. set of "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" went viral online this week. The upcoming film's director, Zack Snyder, took to Twitter last Sept. 11 to confirm that the new Batmobile is already being unveiled. Snyder posted a photo of the weaponized machine, one of the more extreme and powerful versions that fans can expect from the "Batman" films.
Clay Enos, the director's photographer, shared a link to a clearer photo and commented that the "iPhone photography is great but some things deserve more." It was also confirmed by the photographer himself that both the car and the background had not been Photoshopped. Enos made it clear in his Twitter page by writing: "no photoshop needed. Just good light, location and subject."
Last May, Snyder also posted a photo on the same social media site, showing Ben Affleck, who portrays Batman in the upcoming movie, as he stood alongside his hulking set of wheels.
Fans were quick to react to the unveiling of the double-barreled hood components and overall militarized look. While some responded with disapproving statements, others commented about the new Batmobile being an awesome version, including Chris Daughtry who posted a photo of the car-turned-tank on Instagram.
"Allow me to take a moment to marvel in #zacksnyder 's vision of the #batmobile for #batmanvsupermandawnofjustice," the Daughtry singer wrote. "He is the KING of comic book movie visuals #period #okimdone."
This has been the first new Batmobile version since "Batman Begins," the first installment of Christopher Nolan's three-movie series with Christian Bale portraying Bruce Wayne.
"Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" will be a semi-sequel to "Man of Steel" released in 2013. The upcoming "Justice League" film has been set for an official release on Mar. 25, 2016. Henry Cavill will reprise his role as Superman and Amy Adams will return as Lois Lane. Other stars have joined the cast, including Affleck as Batman, Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, and Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor, among others.
