'Batman: The Telltale Series' release date: PC port plagued with glitches; Telltale releases new patch to fix issues

Batman: The TellTale Series TellTale Games

The first episode for "Batman: The TellTale Games Series" has been released, and while the game in general has been receiving a high amount of praise, the PC version has been plagued with negative reviews such as on the Steam page due to numerous game-breaking bugs and glitches.

As reported by Kotaku, the PC port of the game is not stable even on computer rigs powerful enough to play games such as "The Witcher 3" at the maximum settings. The report enumerates several issues such as the mouse cursor getting stuck and that controller buttons have been mapped to the wrong settings.

It is also noted that the framerate consistently drops to 10 fps (frames per second) and the switching to fullscreen mode can cause the game to crash. Numerous parts of the game do not properly load, making it nearly impossible to finish the game without having to resort to cutting through scenes or just reloading a save file until the game manages to run without issue.

Consumers on the game's Steam page have stated that the game's issues are most prominent when the PC rig is running on an Integrated Graphics Card, leading to game crashes, framerate drops and more.

The official Telltale website for the game has since announced that a new patch has been released and this will reportedly address many of the reported issues with the PC version of the game. The patch will allow the game to run more smoothly although it does not yet fix every problem that has been reported thus far.

While the patch has alleviated some of the negative reviews on Steam, there are still numerous comments regarding the instability of the PC port and it is likely that the developers will have to continue releasing further patches to make the PC version run as smooth as originally intended.
