'Arrow' season 4 spoilers: Felicity Smoak may not yet die in episode 10

 CW

The midseason finale for "Arrow" season 4 ended with Felicity Smoak (Emily Bett Rickards) being severely injured. The first promotional trailer for the midseason premiere was then released and it showcases Felicity being brought to the hospital and then shows Oliver (Stephen Amell) at a grave.

However, according to an analysis by Movie Pilot, there is a chance that Felicity doesn't die and that there could be someone else in the grave.

The report states that given Barry Allen aka the Flash (Grant Gustin) was present, it is likely that the character in the grave must have been present in one of the "Arrow/The Flash" crossover episodes.

It is also pointed out that the person must have been important to Oliver to make him cry and forsake his vow of not killing, and it must have been someone important to the city to warrant such an elaborate funeral with a lot of flowers.

Felicity Smoak reportedly matches all four criteria but the report also explains that it is very common for "Arrow" promotional material such as trailers and images to hint at one character's death only to have someone else entirely be the one killed off. This is the biggest clue that Felicity might survive her wounds.

Other candidates include John Diggle (David Ramsey) and Quentin Lance (Paul Blackthorne), Thea Queen (Willa Holland) and Laurel Lance (Katie Cassidy) are also candidates but they do not meet all four required criteria. It is also speculated that it could be someone else entirely.

According to a report from Cinema Blend, there is also the off-shoot chance of the dead person being Damien Darhk (Neal McDonough) himself. It is speculated that the scene in the trailer occurs after Oliver and the rest of Team Arrow have already taken the villain down and it is likely Oliver is merely recalling the horrors Damien had brought.

It is also stated that Felicity was said to be given a codename for Team Arrow and this has yet to occur in the series, further implying she will survive.

"Arrow" season 4 returns this Jan. 20, 2016.
