The Apple Watch 2 is reportedly set to make its debut by next year.
More specifically, the second generation Apple Watch is reportedly expected to be available by June if most rumors are to be believed, although a consensus on when the new device might hit the market is far from being reached.
According to Alphr, the June release date is not official as of yet, and the launch window could even extend earlier into April. Some rumors have also suggested that the Apple Watch 2 could also be set to make its debut even earlier, possibly even in March. If the Apple Watch 2 does indeed make an earlier than expected debut, then that is likely because it will be making an appearance at the company's March event.
With a variety of release dates on the table for the Apple Watch 2, the correct one might not be identified until much later on, meaning people will have to keep up on any new word regarding this particular device.
The second generation Apple Watch is expected to sport quite a few new features when it is officially released.
According to WT Vox, the new watch is likely to have a new front-facing video camera that is specifically designed for the purposes of making FaceTime calls.
Another new feature being rumored for the Apple Watch 2 is the inclusion of a wireless chip that should improve its Wi-Fi connectivity, although it's unclear just how potent the addition will be.
Apple is also reportedly working toward making the new watch more capable of functioning even without an iPhone present. More functionality could be coming to the Apple Watch 2 via watchOS 2 and it is expected to deliver new features that will finally enable the new item to work relatively well even on its own.
As for the look of the new device, most rumors suggest that the Apple Watch 2 will not look drastically different from its current iteration.
