Apple iPad Mini 3 vs Google Nexus 8: Which tablet to get this fall?

Two tablets are allegedly coming this fall and will battle head on for the favor of consumers.

Apple is set to announce this year's version of the iPad Mini. The new miniature tablet is suspected to come with upgraded specs and features compared to last year's version. Tech giant Google is also set to unveil its rumored 8-inch tablet later this year. Below is the comparison between the rumored specs and features of the iPad Mini 3 and Google Nexus 8.

Screen Display

The iPad Mini 3 is expected to pack the same screen display as its predecessor. The iPad Mini with Retina display boasts a screen panel of 7.9 inches. The upcoming Apple device will sport a 2K pixel resolution. The Google nexus 8, on the other hand, is rumored to come with a bigger screen display of 8.9 inches with 2048 x 1440 pixel resolution.

Processor

The iPad Mini 3 will surely come with the upcoming A8 processor with 64-bit architecture. The Google Nexus 8 will be powered either with a 64-bit Snapdragon processor from Qualcomm or NVIDIA's Tegra K1 processor.

Operating System

iPad Mini 3 will run with Apple's iOS 8, while the Google Nexus 8 will run with either Android 4.4.4 Kitkat OS or Android 5.0 L OS.

Internal Storage

Just like the previous iPad Mini, the new miniature iPad Mini will be available in 16GB, 32GB and 64GB variants. Google Nexus 8 will most likely be available in 16GB and 32GB variants.

Camera

Both tablets are purported to come with an 8MP camera at the back.

Price

Apple may follow the pricing of the previous iPad Mini with Retina Display and offer the iPad Mini Retina at a discounted price. Google nexus 8 is rumored to replace the current Nexus 7 tablet. Thus, it is most likely to be available at a tag price that's a tad higher than the 7-inch tablet. Google is well-known for offering high quality devices with fair specs and features that come with friendly prices.
