It was an anxious wait for Samsung mobile users, but finally, the Android 5.0 Lollipop update has arrived in the U.K. Anyone who owns a Galaxy S5, S4, Note 4 and Note 3 can now upgrade their software to the latest version. As for U.S. users, it may roll out next month.

Back in December 2014, Russia, Spain and Poland were lucky enough to get the first release of the Lollipop update for the SM-G900F model. However, last month, the update wasn't made available to Galaxy S5 users. At any rate, Samsung's hard work has paid off because now, every S5 user in the U.K. can already upgrade their phone's OS.

SamMobile reports that all Samsung phones in the U.K. with the build number LRX21T can already get their sweet Android 5.0 Lollipop. The same report says that Samsung is already working on the Android 5.0.2 release for models LRX22G.

Why did Samsung have to release the updates separately? If they merge the two versions together, the release of the update will get delayed more. This is why Samsung opted to release the earlier version first since the newer one will not be ready until February or March at the earliest.

In the U.S., Galaxy S5 users will receive the Android 5.0.2. release, but there's no exact date yet. For S4, S3 and Note 3 users, the Lollipop update will reportedly roll out in February.

Meanwhile, according to Gospel Herald, there's a rumor going around that the Note 4 and Note Edge will receive the Android 5.0.1 update instead and will skip the 5.0 update. The 5.0.1 version is built to fix the bugs and issues present in the November Lollipop update.

Why is the Lollipop update so important anyway? Well, it has a new interface with a bunch of features, which is why Samsung had to "rebuild all its proprietary apps" to make sure that their skin works well on the new Android OS.
