Amir Khan not impressed by Keith Thurman and Luis Collazo

On whether Amir Khan feels sorry for Luis Collazo or is simply trying to get back at Keith Thurman is anyone's guess but one thing is for sure — he is far from impressed by what he saw.

Khan was apparently voicing his opinion on the fight between Thurman and Collazo, a match which the former won via retirement in the seventh round due to a cut over his right eye. The bout took place at Premier Boxing Champions (PBC) on ESPN.

Even though Thurman came out the winner, it was evident that the match was far from impressive. In fact, Thurman found himself in trouble in the fifth round when Collazo hurt him with a shot to the body. After the hit, Thurman was visibly feeling the effects of that attack and Khan believes that another 30 seconds of that round could have spelled doom for Thurman.

According to Khan, Collazo is a far different fighter now from when he and the 34-year-old former World Boxing Association (WBA) Welterweight champion fought on May 3, 2014.

"[Collazo] was nowhere near the same fighter that I fought. The Luis Collazo that I fought had more confidence. I think me beating him dropped his confidence a lot. I put him down three times," says Khan during an interview from fighthype.com

It remains to be seen if Thurman would fire back at the verbal jabs thrown by Thurman. Prior to his fight with Collazo, Thurman already made it known that he wanted to face off with Khan, although it seems such may be hard to set up.

"You want to know who's going to win out of Keith Thurman and Amir Khan. Let's make a contract and make the fight happen," Thurman said to Thaboxingvoice.

For one, both fighters have one manager in Al Haymon. That alone could make it impossible for both fighters to meet inside the boxing ring unless one of them eventually moves on to be handled by someone else.
