Each season of "American Horror Story" tells a new story and setting, with many actors coming back to portray entirely different roles. Lady Gaga — real name Stefani Germanotta — is the newest addition to the cast, and a new report finally reveals what role she will play in "AHS: Hotel," the fifth season of the highly acclaimed mini-series.

According to a report from the BBC, series creator Ryan Murphy disclosed Lady Gaga's character during a panel at the Television Critics Association. Murphy explained that she will be playing a character named Elizabeth, the owner of the hotel.

"She owns the hotel and she is sort of a very wealthy social doyenne who is consumed with art and fashion and people," he explained. "She has a nefarious plan that is revealed in the first episode that plays out over the course of the season."

A doyenne is a well-respected woman in a particular field, which indicates that Elizabeth is no small-time hotel owner. This also shows in her social circle, which includes the character Ramona Royale (Angela Bassett), a Hollywood actress who has close ties to Elizabeth.

Elizabeth's "nefarious plan" is still a mystery but given how the character is obsessed with art and fashion, it may have something to do with most of her tenants being upper class citizens, such as the aforementioned Ramona and Evan Peters' character John Hughes, who is described as a  business-eccentric-type of character.

According to Out.com, Elizabeth will be having a relationship with Matt Bomer's character, Donovan. The report also cites that Elizabeth, Donovan, and Tristan Duffy (Finn Wittrock) will get entangled in a love triangle.

"American Horror Story" will be Lady Gaga's first major acting role although she did appear in the 2014 film-noir "Sin City: A Dame to Kill For" and had a short cameo in "Machete Kills."

"American Horror Story: Hotel" premieres this Oct. 7.
