'Amazon Top Gear' release date: Show to premiere sometime this fall, Stig included?

Ever since BBC fired "Top Gear" host Jeremy Clarkson, who took co-hosts James May and Richard Hammond with him, the trio has been busy working on an untitled show for Amazon Prime, which many refer to as "Amazon Top Gear." It is now widely believed that this new show will premiere sometime this fall.

As posted in a report from the Week, the show has been filming since October last year and the three hosts have revealed via Twitter that they have begun settling into their new offices. It is now speculated that the premiere episode might launch by late October or early November.

However, as previously reported, the trio has a plan of launching something very soon to coincide with the premiere of the latest season of BBC's "Top Gear," now with a new host in Chris Evans. It is speculated to be a preview episode or a special event to officially unveil their new show.

"Top Gear" is expected to launch soon, therefore it is likely that the new Amazon series with Clarkson and the group will be launching soon as well, most likely by the middle of summer.

At first the new show was rumored to be called "Gear Knobs," given that a trademark for this title was filed last year but Clarkson denied this via Twitter, stating that this was not the title they were going with. Other rumored titles include "Speeders" and "This and That" among many others.

One other rumor flying about is that the new Amazon Prime series will see the return of Ben Collins aka the original Stig. In a report from the Mirror, Collins confirmed he has been keeping in touch with Clarkson and that there is interest in bringing Collins over to the new show, although no formal agreements have yet been signed.
