'The Amazing Race' season 27 renewed: show gets renewed for another season

The Amazing Race CBS

"The Amazing Race" season 26 is coming to an end and the last leg will comprise of four couples speeding to the finish line. Three of the couples are blind date pairs while the other couple has been dating for eight months.

Team Rx for Love (Hayley and Blair), The Legal Team (Jelani Roy and Jenny Wu), and Team SoCal (Tyler Adams and Laura Pierson) are all blind date teams. The only pre-established dating team is Team Truck Stop Love (Mike Dombrowski and Rochelle Nevedal).

Season 26 introduced a new concept by putting on a spin on the groups in the race. There were initially 11 teams and six of them were comprised of couples in an established relationship. The other five teams were comprised of "blind date" couples that met for the first during the show. Not all of them have shown a romantic spark but that doesn't mean they don't have a chance of working together effectively. As the IBTimes points out, Hayley and Blair came out in first place during the previous leg of the race which took them all over Peru.

During the finale, the teams will travel back to the USA where they will head to a cattle ranch in Texas before they rappel down the Dallas Reunion Tower and lastly race to the AT&T Stadium, home of the NFL Dallas Cowboys, in Arlington.

With Team Truck Stop Love coming in last in the previous leg, it appears that either Rx for Love or The Legal Team may triumph over the final segment of the race. A recap of the previous episode from the IBTimes hints that blind date couple Hayley and Blair will win.

The race doesn't just stop there. According to a report from TV Series Finale, CBS has renewed "The Amazing Race" for season 27 despite viewer ratings dropping. The new season will air next fall.
