"Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." has been hinting at the possible appearance of the Secret Warriors — a band of super-powered Inhumans — since the beginning of season 2, and the finale all but mentioned its name. A new report from Variety now confirms that season 3 will indeed feature the Secret Warriors front and center.

According to the report, Agent Coulson (Clark Gregg) will be hunting down several Inhumans he can recruit as part of the Secret Warriors while Skye (Chloe Bennet), who was revealed to be Daisy Johnson aka Quake from the Marvel Comics, will be the leader of the team.

Variety also posted the first official synopsis for season 3 along with an accompanying poster. The synopsis reads as follows:

In the aftermath of SHIELD's battle with Jiaying and the Inhumans, Director Coulson will search the world for more powered people and assemble an extraordinary new team to deal with threats unlike the world has ever seen. However, the Agents of SHIELD will soon find out they're not the only ones tracking down these new Inhumans."

According to a report from Screen Rant, it is very likely that Lincoln Campbell (Luke Mitchell) will also be a part of the Secret Warriors. His character is a notable Inhuman and the actor was recently promoted to series regular for season 3.

While season 1 dealt with the aftermath of S.H.I.E.L.D.'s dissolution and revival after the events of "Captain America: The Winter Soldier," and season 2 dealt with the battle against the first wave of Inhumans, season 3 appears to be about the Secret Warriors fighting other organizations with their own group of Inhumans.

At this point, no one else has been confirmed to be on the Secret Warriors team although fans are wondering if comic book regulars such as Yo-Yo Rodriguez, Sebastian Druid, or Alexander Aaron aka Phobos will be included.

"Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." season 3 is scheduled to premiere this Sept. 29.
