"The Young and The Restless" is heading for a big change this week as head-writer Chuck Pratt takes over the storylines for the Genoa City residents. And what better way to make a statement than to start the week with a plane crash that will change the character's lives forever.
This week, Neil Winter boards the family plane together with the other members of the family. Due to the huge storm hovering Genoa City, this caused so much turbulence to the plane and caused it to crash. According to the spoilers, everyone will make it, but Lily Winter's body is nowhere to be found.
Where is Lily Winter's body then? This instantly sparked talks about the show killing off the character or actress Christel Khalil leaving the show for good. Back in 2012, there was already a rumor of Khalil leaving "Y&R" due to not coming up with an agreement with CBS.
She Knows Soaps was able to get a statement from Khalil's official site, which is no longer running right now. "Christel Khalil is indeed leaving 'The Young and the Restless'. It is not her decision to leave. An agreement could not be reached during contract negotiations," the statement said.
According to Celeb Dirty Laundry, there's also a rumor going around that Khalil isn't particularly happy with the direction and story arcs of her character Lily Winters. How true are these rumors?
Take them with a grain of salt. Khalil has been a series regular for 13 years running. With Pratt taking the lead in the writer's room, there may be big changes coming to each character including Lily Winters. Perhaps, the disappearance of her body is already the first step in creating a better storyline for the character. Plus, it is highly unlikely that a series regular like Khalil would be killed off in the show just like that.
