A leaked image of the new Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 shows the famous smartphone from China sporting a minimal bezel design that is keeping up with the rest of the competition.

More sleek and less boxy, the new unit will certainly look like an upgraded version of the Redmi Note 4. The new screen will have an unusual 18:9 aspect ratio which would make the Redmi Note 5 taller. Users might need spend a bit of learning curve in navigating through the screen. The back of the new model resembles Redmi Note 4 with the key difference of having two cameras instead of just one.

A dual-camera at the rear end of the device has also been confirmed from the leaked photos. Dual rear cameras can take photos at a wide range and far distances with very satisfying image quality. Yet unlike its competitors, HTC U11 and Motorola Moto X4, Redmi Note 5 is a very inexpensive next-gen smartphone. One of the two cameras at the back side of the smartphone will have a 16-mp resolution while the other one will have 5-mp.

The front camera of the Redmi Note 5 is also an upgrade from its predecessor, now with 12-megapixels of resolution.

The 5.5inches of screen can display at 1080p through an In-Plane Switching (IPS) LCD. This means colors seen in the phone will have decent accuracy as well a decent levels of brightness.

Another major confirmation that is still waiting for patrons of the Redmi Note 5 is the new octa-core processor, Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 that will be running at a 3 GB or 4 GB memory with 32 GB or 64 GB storage capacity. The upcoming model will have a 4,000mAh battery in place.

The company has yet to officially release pricing and market availability of the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5.
