'Wonder Woman' movie news: New images and synopsis revealed

Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman Warner Bros. Pictures

An exclusive report from Entertainment Weekly has revealed several new photos of the upcoming "Wonder Woman" movie. Some of the photos showcase Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot) sheathing her sword or being directed by director Patty Jenkins while another photo shows her with the film's lead male actor, Chris Pine, who plays Steve Trevor.

Along with the official photos comes the film's synopsis which confirms the majority of the movie will be set in the 1910s during World War I. The synopsis states that Diana aka Wonder Woman, like her comic book counterpart, will be from an island populated by Amazonian women who live a sheltered life away from the rest of the world.

This all stops when Steve Trevor, a fighter pilot, crash lands into the island. It is during this time that the women of the island learn about a great war raging throughout the world and this forces Diana to take up her arms as Wonder Woman, leaving the island along with Steve to fight and hopefully to end the conflict.

Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, Gadot explained that working in this film was a different experience than her previous outing as Wonder Woman in "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice." As a matter of fact, she states that it has been a different experience from all of her previous film endeavors, thanks to director Patty Jenkins.

"Working with a woman is a different experience," she explained, "it feels like the communication is different. We talk about emotions. It's a story about a girl becoming a woman. I think only a woman, who has been a girl, can be able to tell the story in the right way."

Comic Book also reports that during this year's San Diego Comic Con there has been a special panel from DC comics in commemoration of Wonder Woman's seventy-fifth anniversary celebration. A part of this anniversary was the reveal of a collectible Invisible Jet. This jet is not going to be in the film, however, given that Wonder Woman can fly.

"Wonder Woman" launches in theaters on June 2, 2017.

If you look at the Church of England’s communications all that it ever seems to highlight is the good works that Christians do to improve the temporal well-being of their neighbours. It is right to highlight these things, but they are not the primary reason for the Church’s existence.
