Web Entrepreneurs Invited to Enter Christian Blog Awards

Christians who run websites and blog sites will have the chance to share their sites with a national audience by entering the first Christian Blog Awards this summer.

The awards have been established by Premier Christian Media and will see eight awards given out in different categories at a black tie event at internet church, St Stephen Wallbrook in September.

Awards host and radio presenter Maria Toth said: "Worldwide, the blogging phenomenon is growing, and the impact it is having on faith is staggering. Christians are using blogs and websites to evangelise, share counsel, have fellowship, resource one another and join together in prayer."

She added: "Holding an awards ceremony will affirm the work many are already doing and hopefully encourage more Christians to realise the gift of being able to communicate with large numbers of people at a time."

Premier has selected its very own 'Christianity' magazine editor, John Buckeridge, as well as Jonathan Bartley from Christian think-tank Ekklesia, to judge the entries.

Alongside an award, winners will receive a tailored gift to support their talents, including the opportunity to see their writing in print.

The Christian Blog Awards organisers are encouraging Christians from all denominations to enter their own blogs and websites, alongside those of their church.

Toth concluded: "The 2007 Christian Blog Awards will celebrate the achievements of UK Christian church websites, and all who are living in our technologically advancing world and are making the most of blogging and the internet to advance the Kingdom of God."
