'Walking Dead' season 6 spoilers: death of one crucial character coming in new episodes?

Josh McDermitt as Eugene Porter in The Walking Dead AMC

Actor Michael Cudlitz, who plays Abraham in AMC's "The Walking Dead," was communicating via Twitter with fellow actor Josh McDermitt, who plays Eugene. According to a report from Hollywood Life, some of these tweets may have just revealed one of the characters who might bite the dust in the show's sixth season.

One of the fans tweeted a question asking McDermitt why he wasn't often seen at the filming locations for season 6, which is now in production. In response, McDermitt posted "I haven't been on much" and this was because he was currently busy "shooting an awesome movie called "Middle Man."

Cudlitz then followed this up by posting "Enjoy! I had a blast working with you."

According to the report, Cudlitz's use of the past tense indicates that McDermitt is no longer a part of "The Walking Dead" cast. This could only mean that McDermitt's character, primary school teacher Eugene Porter, would die in the upcoming season.

In the original comic books created by Robert Kirkman, Eugene is still alive and it was Abraham who perished during the group's fight with Negan and his "Saviours." As the show has deviated from its source material numerous times — Carol is alive in the show and Andrea was killed off — it is likely that the series will switch things between Abraham and Eugene.

According to a report from Design & Trend, another hint is that McDermitt is busy with another project. Tyrese and Noah were killed off in the show almost immediately after it was revealed that their actors were involved in other film and TV projects, so it is likely that McDermitt's role in "Middle Man" has led to the writers killing off Eugene.

Also, "The Walking Dead" is known for killing off more than one character per season, so there's a chance that Eugene won't be the only one to say farewell come season 6.

"The Walking Dead" season 6 premieres this October.
