'Vampire Diaries' season 6 episode 9 spoilers: Damon and Elena try to save Bonnie from evil Kai

Coming into episode 9 of the new season of "The Vampire Diaries," the gang has another formidable foe to deal with. Evil Kai has set his eyes on Bonnie and he will do everything he can to kill the witch.

This week, Damon and Elena will not focus on their love story memories, but instead, they will form a plan to save Bonnie from Kai and get her out of the Other Side. The last episode revealed some important details that might have Delena get their friend back and save her. Delena will also seek the help of Alaric who is unwilling to actually help.

It can be recalled that Bonnie sacrificed herself to help get Damon out of 1994 Mystic Falls. Because of that, Damon feels a deep sense of gratitude toward her, prompting him to try to save her. However, only magic can help Bonnie as Kai already left the Gemini Coven. He has already travelled to real-time.

According to Celeb Dirty Laundry, the official synopsis of the episode reads: "Damon finds himself in hot water after he carries out a plan that requires Alaric's unwilling participation. When Elena shares some hopeful news with Jeremy about Bonnie she is caught off guard by his reaction. Liv helps Damon and Elena with their plan to get Bonnie back, but when things take an unexpected turn, she's left with a difficult choice to make. Elsewhere, Matt takes matters into his own hands when Enzo's actions cross the line."

Meanwhile, episode 10 proves to be one of the most important episodes this season. Not only is it the mid-season finale, but it's the show's closest episode to Christmas.

Spoilers of the future episode say that Bonnie will still not be able to get back home and Caroline will feel sad about not being able to return to Mystic Falls to spend Christmas with her mother. Elsewhere, Alaric, Damon and Elena will investigate where Jo is, according to Wet Paint

Don't miss any episode of "The Vampire Diaries." It airs Thursday nights, 8 p.m., only on The CW.
