'Uncharted 4: A Thief's End' finally gets a release date

Uncharted 4: A Thief's Edition - Digital Deluxe Edition Naughty Dog

The highly-anticipated and twice-delayed "Uncharted 4: A Thief's End" has officially been given a release date. As announced on the PlayStation Blog, the game will hit store shelves and the digital Playstation Store by March 18. Along with the release date, Naughty Dog also announced that the game will soon feature the series' first story DLC.

The game can be bought by itself but gamers can also avail of the Special Edition and the Libertalia Collector's Edition. These are for the physical copies of the game. The Special Edition has been tagged with an $80 price while the Libertalia Collector's Edition costs $120. Both include special multiplayer add-ons but the latter comes with a 12-inch collector's statue of Nathan Drake.

"Uncharted 4" will also be available digitally, and gamers can also avail of the Digital Deluxe Edition which offers the Uncharted 4 Triple Pack exclusively for the time being. According to GamesRadar, this appears to be Naughty Dog's version of a season pass.

This Triple Pack also unlocks "future access first-ever, single-player story add-on" along with two multiplayer packs.

The Uncharted 4 Triple Pack will become available separately for those who purchase the physical copies of the game or those who did not avail of the Digital Deluxe Edition at some point, although a final price tag for the Triple Pack has not yet been listed. Also, Naughty Dog has not yet confirmed when the story DLC will be released or who the main character will be.

According to a report from Gamespot, Naughty Dog has refrained from working on single-campaign DLC in the past because they have a small team and they preferred to focus their efforts on a new game entirely instead of just five hours' worth of DLC content.

However, the developers have delved into single-player DLC before with their release of the "Left Behind" DLC for "The Last of Us." This DLC proved to be a massive success and was later made available for purchase even without the main game.
