Tyler Perry comic book 'Fame' based on success releases today in print, digital versions

Tyler Perry comic book

Tyler Perry, one of Hollywood's most popular African American filmmakers, will be the star of a new comic book story set for release today. FAME, a comic book series published by Bluewater Productions will be bringing Tyler Perry's personal success story to life.

"There are some celebrities we have done that are just media sensations, then you have someone like Tyler Perry who is a major inspiration to so many people," Bluewater publisher Darren G. Davis told MSNBC's theGrio. "I have such respect for him and his story after working on this comic book."

Although the "Madea" actor serves as a screenwriter, director, actor and producer, he had no involvement in the creation of the comic book. Instead he will simply be the story's protagonist, with the comic book highlighting the victories and struggles he faced on his road to Hollywood fame.

Bluewater Production's FAME series is known for taking the real-life situations of celebrities and converting them into comic book stories. Other notable celebrities that were featured include Oprah, 50 cent and Beyonce.

The 32-page comic book is written by CR Warn and includes art by Steven Wilcox. The book will also include two unique covers illustrated by famous comic book artist Mario Gully and Jaume Font.

Print and digital copies of FAME Tyler Perry will be available for purchase today.

Print copies can be ordered for $3.99 at Comic Flea Market here.

Bluewater Productions has also made this title available for download on Wowio, ComiXology, DriveThru Comics, Google Play, My Digital Comics, Overdrive, Iverse, iTunes, Kindle, Biblioboard, ComicBin, Nook, Kobo and wherever eBooks are sold.
