'True Detective' season 2 spoilers: Casting trouble for the show?

True Detective HBO

The second season of the Home Box Office Inc.'s (HBO) "True Detective" may be delayed as the show is currently facing a crisis in casting the right people for the upcoming season.

There were talks that an early 2015 schedule would be hard to pull off if the casting is still in the process of selection and talking to potential actors. There were speculations that since the cast has not been finalized, the filming has not started yet.

It seems the production team is having a hard time replacing the actors from season one. Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson set the bar high and a lot of fans are waiting for the second season of the series.

This is not the first time reports about the series being stalled have emerged. Earlier this month, Daniel Fienberg of HitFix tweeted, "I feel like something has to be wrong for...casting to be dragging on like this."

However, HBO has not confirmed or denied the rumors that True Detective season two production will be behind schedule.

Rumors have surfaced that Colin Farrell and Taylor Kitsch will be playing the two leads in the show's second season, although the actors have not confirmed whether or not they will take the roles. "Mad Men" actress Elisabeth Moss is reportedly in talks with the show's producers to play the female lead in the next season of True Detective.

On the other hand, recent rumors claim that Vince Vaughn is also in discussion with the management to play the fourth leading role. Other reports claim that he will play the role of a villain next season.

HBO has not announced the exact premiere date of season two. However, reports claim that the series will be back on air in January 2015.
