Toybox teams up with Easyjet to benefit Latin American street children

Christian charity Toybox has partnered with low-cost airline Easyjet to raise funds for street children in Latin America.

Easyjet has pledged to donate 10 per cent of profits from the sale of Teddy Gulliver, a teddy bear on sale in all Easyjet flights this summer, to Toybox’s work with street children.

“We are really pleased to be able to contribute to such a worthwhile cause,” said Sophia Cooke, of Easyjet.

There are an estimated 40 million street, working and high risk children across the whole of Latin America. Many of them are driven onto the streets by poverty, abuse, family breakdown and violence.

“A street child’s life is very hard. They have to find money for food in whatever they can – shining shoes, selling sweets, even getting involved in drugs or prostitution,” said a spokesperson for Toybox.

The charity is hoping to raise thousands of pounds for its work with street children by selling more than 3,000 Gullivers, on sale for £10 each.
