Tech giant Apple recently released the new iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus, and the units began rolling out in stores on Sept. 19. But while many laud the new iPhone, it's not free from scrutiny and complaints. Below are the top five problems users have started to complain about.
Screen easily cracks
One of the usual complaints of the users is the brittle screen panel of the new smartphones. A funny video became viral showing the first person to purchase the iPhone 6 in Perth, Australia who also became the first person to drop it while opening the packaging. To make matters worse, he did it on national television.
Some people took their sentiments on Twitter. Some of them revealed that the screen in the new iPhones is easily cracked after being dropped "two feet off the ground." It was rumored before that the new Apple smartphones will pack a sturdy Sapphire glass. However, the said screen did not materialize.
Bendy
Aside from being easily cracked, the smartphones also bend. The problem can be attributed to the anodized aluminum frame. The anodizing makes the case more durable but aluminum is a soft metal, which is easily bent. Furthermore, the smartphones are thinner than their predecessors, which is a factor that makes the handsets bendable.
Expensive
iPhone 6 Plus is pricey. The new phablet is $100 more than the iPhone 6. U.S. carriers offer the iPhone 6 Plus for $299 with a two-year contract.
iOS 8 crashes app
The latest iOS 8 makes some popular apps crash, such as Facebook and Dropbox. Some users posted their complaints on Apple's App Store. According to some users, the apps "constantly freeze and crash." Some apps are not ready for iOS 8.
Short supply
Some of the versions of the new smartphone are now out of stock, and consumers need to wait for at least three to four weeks for shipping or delivery. The new iPhone broke the record of four million units ordered on the first 24 hours when the pre-order opened.
