There is clearly a buzz for the rumored HTC Nexus 9. Latest reports claim that the tablet will make an appearance sometime soon, even pointing to a Nexus 9 release date set this month.

Last week, an alleged photo of the Nexus 9 tablet leaked online through a Twitter user named @upleaks. The photo revealed that the tablet would not include a metal casing as previously rumored, but would instead retain the matte back panel that was seen in the Nexus 7 and 5 devices.

It has been speculated that the Nexus 9 tablet would be released alongside the Nexus 6 smartphone and the Android L operating system. HTC has yet to confirm the existence and release of the tablet. Nonetheless, there are "proofs" that have been interpreted to mean that the HTC Nexus 9 is real and its release will happen soon, the top three of which are:

HTC exec's confirmation

The latest confirmation and most reliable information about the Nexus tablet is from HTC president of North Asia Jack Tong who reportedly announced in a press conference held in York City that Nexus 9 is the company's "commitment" to returning to the tablet market. This said, it can be surmised that the Taiwanese mobile manufacturer is indeed working on a Nexus 9 device.

NVIDIA's legal document

Phone Arena picked up a legal document from NVIDIA's patent war against Qualcomm and Samsung. The document mentioned HTC Nexus 9, which suggests that tech giant Google will partner with HTC in making the tablet. Moreover, the device will be powered by NVIDIA's K1 Tegra chipset and not the previously rumored Qualcomm Snapdragon processor.

Benchmark

The tablet has appeared in various benchmark sites. An HTC tablet with model number 0P82100 got certified in the U.S. by the FCC. The device appeared again in Taiwan's equivalent agency, NCC. These agencies check all communication devices to guide users and companies about wireless technology and connectivity.
