Tech giant Apple just announced the new iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus at their elaborate launch event yesterday. Phone lines will surely be busy as the smartphones will be available for pre-order starting this Friday, Sept. 12, and will be released on Sept. 19.
Below are the top three places where one can grab the new iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus.
Apple
On Sept. 19, Apple will open its retail stores at 8 a.m. In the previous years, the first day attracted long queues and massive crowds, and it is expected that this year will be no different, especially after Apple released smartphones with screen displays at par with its rivals in the market. Apple will take pre-orders starting Sept. 12.
Carriers
Due to a surge of pre-orders, Apple's web site may be loaded. It will be easier to avail of the new iPhones through a mobile carrier. iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus are headed to major US carriers such as Verizon, AT&T, Sprint and T-Mobile.
Some carriers even offer deals and discounts on the new smartphone to attract customers. Verizon is giving away gift cards of up to $200, which can be used to purchase the new 16GB variant of iPhone 6, in exchange of one's old iPhone. The carrier is accepting iPhone 4, iPhone 4S, iPhone 5, iPhone 5C, and iPhone 5S.
Sprint, on the other hand, is offering a special "iPhone for Life Plan" and throws in an unlimited data for $50 a month. Consumers who will sign up for the plan can pick up an iPhone 6 with 16GB of storage for $0 down, with payments of $20 on top of their monthly bill.
Retailers
Another option where consumers can get hold of the new iPhone 6 smartphones is through retailers like Best Buy, Walmart, Radioshack, Target, and Sam's Club. In Best Buy, buyers can get the 16GB iPhone 6 for free through a trade-in program, and upon agreement to sign a new two-year contract with one's chosen carrier. Owners of the iPhone 4S can get as much as $125 when trading in their device.
