"They can kill the body but they cannot kill the soul," American artist Natalie Grant wrote on her Facebook page, as she expressed her unity and support for the 21 Egyptian Christians who were cruelly beheaded by the Islamic State because of their faith.
She said that the 21 "people of the cross" who suffered through tears, groans and prayers represent "21 of us." She condemned their killers by saying that the men were "murdered by evil but received by Grace."
"I imagine all of heaven stood and applauded as they were welcomed in to the arms of Jesus," she wrote.
Grant is also praying for the families, that Jesus would be near those who need Him during this painful and difficult time.
Later, she shared some lyrics of Stuart Townend's song In Christ Alone as a testiment to the bravery and sacrifice of the 21 Christians: "No guilt in life, no fear in death - this is the power of Christ in me. From life's first cry to final breath, Jesus commands my destiny."
Her fans weighed in on Grant's statements and shared some Bible verses for the 21 martyrs.
"Blessed are those who are persecuted for my name's sake, for theirs is the Kingdom of Heaven. - Matthew 5:10," someone commented.
Another fan shared the Bible verse James 1:12, which said, "Blessed is the man who preserves under trial, because when he has stood the test, he will receive the crown of life that God has promised to those who love him."
Another commented: "Well done faithful servants is what they heard from God Himself! So sad for the families' losses. But I know these men are in no more pain!! These Christian brothers are in paradise!"
