Patch 1.08 for "The Witcher 3" is now officially available.

Unlike many of the other updates that have been released for "The Witcher 3," patch 1.08 is not so much focused on adding new content as it is on fixing some of the lingering issues that have remained in the game.

For the most part, patch 1.08 was released to address many of the problems that were introduced to "The Witcher 3" when patch 1.07 came out, according to PlayStation Lifestyle.

One of the most notable problems gamers had to deal with during the introduction of patch 1.07 was the fact that level requirements for certain pieces of equipment were scaled up, and unfortunately, this also led to some players owning what amounted to unusable gear though no fault of their own.

This is why in patch 1.08, players will be receiving an item known as the Wolven Hour potion. What this potion does is lower the level requirements for all pieces of equipment for an hour, giving players time to either try to level up so that they can meet the new requirements or to find different gear they can use. At the end of the hour, the potion's effects will wear off, and the gear's level-based requirements will go back to what they were.

Patch 1.08 also fixes minor issues such as players being unable to compare their items with the ones merchants were selling. A whole host of fixes to quest-based glitches have also been implemented.

Players can also claim the Card Collector achievement now in "The Witcher 3," thanks to the new patch.

The other essential purpose of patch 1.08 is to prepare "The Witcher 3" for the upcoming New Game Plus mode, according to IGN.

No release date has been given for the arrival of New Game Plus, so players will simply have to keep on the lookout for that addition.
