'The Walking Dead' season 6 finale teaser introduces Negan and Lucille

The Walking Dead - Negan and Lucille AMC

The season 6 finale for "The Walking Dead" is still a week away, with the penultimate episode ending on a shocking cliffhanger, but the international promo teaser for the finale has already been released and it gives fans their first look at Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) and his dangerous weapon of choice, the barbed-wire-wrapped bat called Lucille.

The teaser trailer starts off with Rick (Andrew Lincoln), Eugene (Josh McDermitt) and Carl (Chandler Riggs) driving off in search of their missing allies when they come across the Saviors in the middle of the road. Rick then pleads for a deal, which the Saviors disagree on. This is when the teaser gives fans their first look at Negan.

Unfortunately, the scene only shows Negan's backside but the character is wearing his iconic black leather jacket and is seen removing a pair of sunglasses as he introduces himself. The trailer then cuts to an image of Negan holding a barbed-wire-wrapped basebal bat, which in the comic books is referred to as Lucille.

With several of Rick's group under the Savior's captivity, it is very likely that Negan will use Lucille to kill one of them. In the original comic books Negan made a big impression when he killed off Glenn (played by Steven Yeun in the series) but it is now speculated that Negan will choose a different victim in the television series.

"All I want to say is, read the comic, but you're not going to know what to expect," said creator Robert Kirkman in an interview with EW. "Part of the reason that that moment was such a big deal in the comic is the fact that you did not expect that it was going to happen, and so we're very confident that we found a way to keep it as unexpected in the show as it was in the comic. So it should be just as intense, just as heartbreaking, and just as shocking."

"The Walking Dead" season 6 finale will air this April 3.

If you look at the Church of England’s communications all that it ever seems to highlight is the good works that Christians do to improve the temporal well-being of their neighbours. It is right to highlight these things, but they are not the primary reason for the Church’s existence.
