'The Sims 4' expansion pack update news: After gender equality, pack tweaks marriage in 'Dine Out'

Just recently, publisher Electronic Arts released a new patch for "The Sims 4." In the patch notes posted on the EA website, the publisher highlighted some changes in the gameplay and system for the life sandbox title. The update addresses the issue of game crashes that some players have reported. Prior to the update, it seems there are a number of players who are kicked out of the game even at the start. The new update also controls the number of new Tragic Clowns.

The new update, version 1.19.1.31.1010 for the PC version, also tweaks the "Dine Out" expansion pack. The new mechanics now play like real life, where Sims going out on a restaurant together on a first date may have love at first sight, but a marriage option is now greyed out.

The patch should automatically download after the launcher starts. However, there may be some cases where the patch is not automatically downloaded. There is a manual update tab for such, and players can right click on "The Sims 4" on the Origin program for a manual refresh.

Meanwhile, since the new patch tweaks some system and gameplay items, Custom Content and Mods features will be automatically disabled the first time players launch "The Sims 4" after the update. However, the features can be unlocked again, via the Settings option in the Menu. In the Other tab, there is a section to tick off "Enable Custom Content and Mods" option. After the option has been turned on again, players must restart the game in order for the custom content or mods features to go live.

"The Sims 4" is the latest in the life sandbox simulation title from Electronic Arts. Reportedly, the PC version will soon expand with additional versions for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
