'The Originals' season 3 premiere spoilers: Images of flashback sequences released

The Originals - flashback in season 3 CW

"The Originals" season 3 will have a few flashback sequences showcasing the original war between Klaus (Joseph Morgan) and his siblings had against their father Mikael (Sebastian Roche). Zap2It has now released the first few images of that flashback, which also reveal that both Finn (Casper Zafer) and Kol (Nathaniel Buzolic) will make a return this season.

According to the report, these flashback sequences will show what life was for the Mikaelson siblings after they rebelled against their father. The consequences of doing so will start to spring out in this season. The season will also reveal the Mikaelson siblings' agenda against their parents.

The report cites that Klaus will be the first one to realize that their sires are coming to New Orleans when "an old vampire friend" comes with the mysterious agenda to work together against their "parents." This vampire friend turns out to be Lucien (Andrew Lees).

Klaus will have to deal with more than his sires, however, as he now has his daughter Hope to worry about. A previous report from July indicated she will now be a primary target.

"I think in general, Hope is both Klaus' greatest strength and his greatest weakness," explained series creator Julie Plec in an interview with Zap2It. "The fact that he is capable of that kind of love gives him a sense and a core of humanity that he needs as a person, as a vampire, to not be this miserable, immortal, ancient creature that will never know love."

She later explained that this love can and will be used against Klaus. She stated that this love for Hope makes him weak and vulnerable. This plot point may become a major arc in season 3 as Hope will represent Klaus' future generation just as much as the flashback sequences showcase his past.
