"The Man in the High Castle" season 2 will be premiering this December, further adapting the novel of the same name, written by famed author Philip K. Dick. As reported by Screen Rant, Amazon has released the second season's full synopsis during the Television Critics Association press tour and it reveals several key plot points.

According to the synopsis, Juliana (Alexa Davalos) will be faces charges as she allowed a suspected Nazi agent, Joe Blake (Luke Kleintank), to leave the Resistance carrying a film that was originally bound for the titular man in the high castle.

Frank Frink (Rupert Evans) is stated to get increasingly radicalized with the Resistance after viewing the films and witnessing his own execution. Tagomi (Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa) is also revealed to be coming back from the alternate world.

Speaking to Digital Trends, director and producer Daniel Percival confirmed that season 2 will also be introducing the man in the high castle himself, a character that was often referenced in season 1 but never shown in person. The character and his work has had a profound impact on many of the characters and his role in season 2 remains a mystery.

Given how the series has expanded on the stories and characters from the original novel it is likely that the man in the high castle is also going to be slightly different than how Philip K. Dick originally wrote him.

For audiences who may not have yet seen season 1 Amazon has released the first episode for free. As reported by Deadline, the episode is now available via YouTube and Facebook and will entice newcomers to the show to avail of the rest of the season through Amazon's subscription.

Alongside "The Man in the High Castle," shows such as "Mozart in the Jungle," "Red Oaks," "Transparent" and "Bosch" also have their pilot episode up for free viewing.

"The Man in the High Castle" season 2 will premiere on Dec. 16.
