'The List' casting news, plot news, release date news: Tiffany Haddish to star in upcoming comedy by Tyler Perry

Comedian Tiffany Haddish, much talked about for her outrageously funny antics, has now signed in on a new comedy movie "The List," which will be created and produced by "Madea" franchise funny man Tyler Perry.

According to Deadline, Haddish will star in the upcoming film alongside Tika Sumpter, best known for her hosting stint on the reality TV series "Best Friend's Date," and Omari Hardwick, who currently top bills Starz' drama-thriller "Power."

With Perry taking on the role of director and producer, the film has now been scheduled for a release date late this year, falling on Nov. 2. The film is also said to be currently underway at Paramount Players.

The upcoming film will see Haddish play as a recently released prisoner who reignites her relationship with her sister played by Sumpter. Now, Sumpter's character is currently in a relationship with a man online who is possibly catfishing her, and the duo will do anything it takes to find out the truth.

In other news, Haddish induced laughs during the recently wrapped Oscars Awards night while presenting with Maya Rudolph.

Last year was also Haddish's moment to shine, being the first female African-American to host "Saturday Night Live." And in the same year, Haddish top-billed Universal's movie "Girls Trip," which saw her act together with other big stars in the form of Jada Pinkett-Smith, Queen Latifah, and Regina Hall.

Haddish is also set to host the next installment of MTV Movie & TV Awards coming June of this year. She is also set to star in another comedy movie from Universal, "Night School," which will see her partner up with veteran comedian Kevin Hart.

Paramount Players was launched by Paramount Pictures back in June of last year. And since Brian Robbins became person in-charge, the studio has been working with Viacom, MTV, Comedy Central, and BET projects to produce films.
