"The Holy Spoof," a short comedic film satirizing Black churches, is coming to theaters in fall 2014. The movie is based on the "hilarious characters, community and opinions of the modern black church," according to a press release.

The film takes place during a "typical imitation Sunday" in Houston, Texas, and a promotional photo of the characters shows a motley crew.

R&B singer Tiaramy Malloy plays an elderly woman, "Bad Girls Club" star Meghan James plays a sexy siren, and Houston radio personality Ayana Mack is a church mother.

The parody film also stars hip-hop artist Paul Wall, Miss Mykie, formerly of BET's "106 and Park," pro golfer Maggie Noel, rapper Nino Gotti, comedian Monty Harrison, Houston radio personality Kiotti Brown, rapper Doughbeezy, B.J. O'Neal, Jamie Alexander, Kris Green, and J.D. Karpicke.

"The Holy Spoof" was written by Isaac "Chill" Yowman, a songwriter, music producer, and engineer who has worked with Trey Songz, Ace Hood, Waka Flocka Flame, Kirko Bangz, and other top music artists. An iYo Visuals film, it is described in a release as an "innovative and barrier-breaking" project. Comedian and YouTube star Phill Wade co-wrote the film and plays the church's pastor, Rev. Curtis Perkins III.

Meghan James tweeted about the film on April 24 using her trademark line.

"I'm fine bissh wheeeet lol," she wrote, "#theholyspoof in theaters near you Fall 2014!!" James also posted an Instagram photo of the film's promotional poster.

"The Holy Spoof" will release in select theaters this fall. Release dates and more information will appear on the film's website, http://www.theholyspoof.com.
