'The Good Wife' season 7 renewed or cancelled? renewal likely

CBS hasn't made any official announcement regarding the renewal or cancellation of their hit legal-drama series, "The Good Wife." The ratings, as charted by TV Series Finale, indicate the series is above the required average to justify a renewal and now, the series' creators have spoken about the show's future.

"We're three weeks into writing Season 7 ... and spending money like drunk sailors. It would have to be a terrible prank on Les Moonves's part," states Robert King, who created the series together with his wife Michelle, in a report from the Washington Post.

According to the report, King's statements indicate that Les Moonves, CBS Corp. president, has indeed green lit a season 7 renewal for the series. The network won't officially confirm it until they announce the show's schedule this following Wednesday when they reveal their full slate of new and renewed TV series.

A report from Cartermatt even suggests that the creators and showrunners are already pulling in more talent for the seventh season. The report indicates that actress Cush Jumbo will be making an appearance in the season 7 premiere but CBS has not given any official confirmation or denial regarding the casting.

"The Good Wife" season 6 is set to air its finale on May 10 and the Kings have promised that it will address several issues in the show. According to the report, the finale will tackle the relationship of Alicia and Kalinda, who have not been in the same room for two full seasons, as well as Alicia's move to a new law firm following a bad run for state attorney.

"The Good Wife" tells the tale of Alicia Florric, played by Julianna Margulies, who stepped up to work in a law firm after being a housewife for thirteen years. As the seasons passed, she moved up the ladder and spent most of season 6 campaigning to be the state attorney, only to be unwillingly caught up in voting fraud. She was forced to step down from her position before she could even officially take office.
