Barry (Grant Gustin) will lead the team to rescue Leonard Snart aka Captain Cold (Wentworth Miller) in the upcoming episode of The CW series "The Flash."
In "Family of Rogues," Cartermatt reveals that the squad will form "an uneasy alliance" with Cold's sister, Lisa (Peyton List), to find him. The captain has been kidnapped and Barry and his squad will decide to lend their assistance. However, Barry will be disappointed to learn that he is actually working with his father, Lewis Snart (Michael Ironside) on a heist. Meanwhile, Joe (Jesse L. Martin) has to face a difficult decision.
Last episode, Jay Garrick (Teddy Sears) showed up and warned Barry of the danger that was coming. He believed that other enemies might have gotten in when the singularity emerged over Central City. Garrick said he was fighting a villain named Zoom (Tony Todd) when he was suddenly hurled into Barry's world. For some reason, Garrick lost his powers when travelling between the two worlds, making Barry doubt what he was claiming.
When Patty Spivot (Shantel VanSanten) was kidnapped by Eddie Slick, aka Sand Demon (Kett Turton), a meta-human, Garrick saw a chance to redeem himself. He said if they could find the villain, Barry could throw lightning from the energy his speed creates and turn him into glass. Cisco's (Carlos Valdes) vision provided them with a location and they immediately set out to rescue Patty before it was too late.
Sand Demon planned on using a concussive bomb on Barry, so the latter needed to be careful. His strategy was to use a distraction, in the form of Garrick. When the speedster confronted Sand Demon alone, Barry sneaked in to save Patty. The foe pursued Garrick and this gave Barry the chance to do the lightning move. Fortunately, it worked and Sand Demon turned into glass and shattered.
"The Flash" airs Tuesdays at 8 p.m. EST on The CW.
