Barry Allen aka the Flash (Ezra Miller) had a brief but important scene in "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice." The character will be having his own solo film soon, and according to a report from Heroic Hollywood, the studios are already interested in filling up the story with five of the character's iconic side characters and villains.
According to the report, the studios are currently testing several actors for unidentified roles. However, the report has compared the description of the roles and has pointed out that the following five characters are the most likely to be involved in the story of the first "Flash" movie: Iris West, Eobard Thawne aka Reverse-Flash, Fred Chyre, Len Snart and Jay Garrick.
Most of these characters have appeared in the CW series "The Flash," with Iris West being portrayed by Candice Patton and Reverse-Flash serving as season 1's main villain. Len Snart aka Captain Cold has gone on to become a hero and member of the "Legends of Tomorrow" crew. Jay Garrick is also on the show, played by Teddy Sears.
It is further speculated that Iris will serve as the film's main love interest for Barry Allen while Eobard Thawne will be the main villain. It is also pointed out that Detective Fred Chyre, a friend of Barry Allen, will likely kick off the main story when he goes missing during an investigation at Thawne Laboratories.
Jay Garrick, the Golden Age version of the Flash during the 1940s, will reportedly be in the film but only for a short cameo appearance. It is likely that this will be another nod to the Flash's ability to jump through time and parallel dimensions due to his speed.
As pointed out in a report from Collider, Warner Bros. Pictures has not yet confirmed that any of these characters will be in the film and it is possible that the roles they are looking to fill in are for entirely different characters.
"The Flash" will launch in theaters on March 16, 2018.
