'The Elder Scrolls 6' release news: Bethesda now hiring for 'bleeding-edge of RPG development'; is the game an upcoming 'Elder Scrolls' title?

Bethesda Softworks, the studio behind "The Elder Scrolls V: Skrim" and "Fallout 4," has recently posted four new job positions on their official site. According to a report from Games Radar, this may be an indication that development for "The Elder Scrolls VI" may be starting in the near future.

The job posting currently states Bethesda is in search of a game programmer, an engine programmer, and two graphics programmers. The report also points out that Jeff Gardiner, the lead producer for "Fallout 4," and Dave Schreiber, sound designer for "Skyrim," are listed as well for the unannounced game.

However, this does not outright confirm that the development team is indeed working on "The Elder Scrolls VI." Back in February, the studios are working on three different games. This will be the first time that Bethesda Softworks will be working on multiple games simultaneously.

"We actually have three longer term projects that we're doing that are all... We'll talk about them at a future date. But they're different to anything we've done before, while also being a Bethesda-style game. Big and crazy but in many ways different to things we've done before," Bethesda lead designer Todd Howard explained.

It is possible that the new job positions will be for an entirely new IP or it could indeed be for a new "Elder Scrolls" game. It is widely speculated that the new game will not be a new "Fallout" game given that "Fallout 4" was just recently released late last year. Games Radar also confirmed that any staff member not working on "Fallout 4" and its DLC packs were going to be assigned to a new project.

The last main game in the franchise, excluding the MMORPG, was "Skyrim" and this was released as far back as 2011. Fans have been clamoring for a new title in the franchise for several years, which would explain why most speculations regarding the new job postings point to a new "Elder Scrolls" game.
