The Digital Songbook - a new tool for worship leaders

Kingsway has launched a new Digital Songbook featuring CD-Roms with full sheet music, chord charts and word masters for fifty of the best loved songs of worship artists like Matt Redman, Stuart Townend, Delirious? and Tim Hughes.

A new instalment in the project will be released twice a month, building up a library of some of the most significant worship songs by leading worship songwriters.

Kingsway hopes the Digital Songbook series will become an indispensable resource for today’s worship leaders. By focussing on the work of individual songwriters and worship leaders each Digital Songbook offers up a comprehensive guide to some of the most significant songs of our time.

First up are the releases for Stuart Townend and Tim Hughes on15 March. Stuart, the writer of countless modern classics, has had a greater impact on the church than any other modern hymn writer. By reclaiming the art of the lyricist and the power of the collective voice, Stuart’s songs have united the church worldwide. From ‘In Christ Alone’ to ‘How Deep The Father’s Love’, from ‘There Is A Hope’ to ‘The Lord’s My Shepherd (Psalm 63)’, this Digital Songbook contains them all.

Next will be the release of the music, chords and words for fifty of Tim Hughes’ best-loved songs, a man who has quickly become one of the most engaging, innovative and appreciated songwriters of his day. It’s easy to see how, with songs like ‘Here I Am To Worship’, ‘Beautiful One’ and ‘Consuming Fire’ coming early on in his career. But he’s just kept on getting better, with ‘God Of Justice’, ‘Give Us Your Courage’ and ‘Happy Day’ all shaping the Church over recent years.

The Digital Songbook for Delirious? will be released on 19 April 2010. For almost two decades Delirious? brought a new style of worship to the table; unashamed yet vulnerable, full of passion yet with a sound that drifted far beyond the walls of the church. From ‘My Soul Sings’ to ‘Majesty’, ‘My Glorious’ to ‘Lord You Have My Heart’, ‘I Could Sing Of Your Love Forever’ and ‘Did You Feel The Mountains Tremble?’ – this is a collection unlike any other.

Finally, on the same release date comes the release for Matt Redman’s best-loved songs. From ‘Blessed Be’ to ‘Once Again’, including ‘I Will Offer Up My Life’ and ‘Better Is One Day’, as well as the recent hit ‘You Alone Can Rescue’ – Matt’s songs have that rare quality of coming straight from his heart but also being relevant to worshipping Christians worldwide.
