'The Crew' release date set: Ubisoft confident of stable launch on Dec. 5

Despite the rocky launches of some of the game titles under its wing, Ubisoft is confident of a smooth release for its new open-world racing game, "The Crew."

The releases of "Watch Dogs," "Far Cry 4," and "Assassin's Creed: Unity" were mired with bugs and issues. Ubisoft even published an apology to "Assassin's Creed" gamers because of the myriad of problems that was found in the game. This resulted to the rollout of patch updates packed with fixes and solutions, and the company even offered a free DLC or game title to appease annoyed players.

Nonetheless, Ubisoft developer Serkan Hasan is confident with the launch of "The Crew" following the release of numerous beta tests for the game. Thousands of gamers all over the world participated in playing several betas that helped the developer sweep off the major bugs and issues that affect the total game experience. The betas proved the credibility of the game and the developer is hoping that players will be attracted to the approach and will be interested enough to play the game.

"For The Crew, we've reaped the benefits of a long term beta program, designed specifically to push our infrastructure as far as possible in real world situations, with thousands of players from all over the world playing the game at the same time," Hasan told the Metropolist

However, this does not mean that the game will be bug-free. Some problems would remain undiscovered until after the game is officially launched, including problems that are out of the developer's and game publisher's control.

"The Crew" is an online racing video game that is set in a large open-world environment. The game will ship to Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360 and PC on Dec. 5.

Meanwhile, "The Crew" will be available to the media for review on the release date as Ubisoft said that the game can only be reviewed with real players playing the game.
