"The 100" season 4 is still in the midst of production and very little has been shared thus far regarding its story, but the writers of the show have given a hint regarding the premiere date, indicating that it will premiere on The CW this coming February 2017.

Posting on Instagram, the writers shared an image parodying the events that are about to come in season 4, showcasing a bottle of perfume with a nuclear symbol on it. However, the caption reads "17.2 oz." and the top portion of the image states "On Sale 2017," indicating the numbers mean Feb. 17, 2017.

While this may be the exact premiere date for the series, the CW and showrunner Jason Rothenberg have yet to officially announce and confirm this. It is also notably difficult to discern when the show might return as the previous three seasons have all premiered in different times of the year, particularly due to an increase in episodes and shifts in production schedules.

Season 1 premiered in March, but season 2 premiered in October. Season 3 premiered in January, making it impossible to identify a release pattern. The show is set on premiering in early 2017, which is why many fans speculate the Feb. 12 date to be accurate.

In an interview with Collider, The CW President Mark Pedowitz did give a hint regarding where season 4 would go given how season 3 ended with the death of Lexa (Alycia Debnam-Carey) and a nuclear threat set on assaulting the planet in a few months.

"We've had long discussions about the first part of the season last year, in terms of it being a little confusing with the Ice Nation and everything else, and it picked up in the second half of the season," he stated about season 3 before explaining how season 4 would go back to the show's roots. "It will be much more intimate stories this year," he went on to say.

"The 100" season 4 will premiere in early 2017.
