The revolutionary fighting game "Tekken 7" is now set for a 2015 rollout in Japan. According to IGN via Arcade Game Portal, game developer Bandai Namco Games rescheduled the game's supposed arcade release this year. The latest "Tekken" title is instead slated for February next year.
During the Evolution Championship Series 2014, news about "Tekken 7" came out. Bandai Namco Games personally boasted in the event that apart from the routinely arcade release, the game will be moving into a PlayStation 4 and Xbox One release within Japan. In addition, the latest "Tekken" title will take advantage of Epic Games' Unreal Engine 4, something "Tekken 7" game director Katsuhiro Harada is proud of.
"Not only is Unreal Engine 4 (is) powerful and easy to use, but it also allows us to bring Tekken 7 to any platform we desire," Harada stated.
The new installment will stay away from the Tekken Tag Tournament premise as Harada and his team concentrates on keeping the game's "true essence."
In early September, the developer/ publisher engaged into location testing with players across the entire country to try out the new gameplay mechanics and the arcade netplay system integrated in the new-fangled addition to the heavily-acclaimed game franchise. It is through this that "Rage Arts" (activates upon a character's low health) and "Power Crushes" (penetrate a character's block undisturbed) were established. According to JBG News, the outcome was expectedly positive. Nevertheless, Bandai Namco Games plans to put in more work to hone the legendary game to perfection.
"Tekken 7" will introduce a new set of playable characters. One is a female Savate-skilled chatterbox in the person of Catalina (Katarina) and the other is a male character named Claudio. According to Shoryuken, players can also fight as returning fighters: Alisa Bosconovitch, Asuka Kazama, Bryan Fury, Feng Wei, Heihachi Mishima, Hwoarang, Kazuya Mishima/Devil Kazuya, King, Lars Alexandersson, Leo, Lili, Ling Xiaoyu, Marshall Law, Paul Phoenix, Sergei Dragunov and Steve Fox.
The story will finally put an end to the long-running Mishima family warfare. A trailer released along with the initial announcement elaborates more on the Heihachi, Kazuya and Jin Kazama.
